Daughters.

Jaya and me, sitting in Leena's home. She offered us kokam sharbat. Leena's daughter, little Anika entered the room to check who were visiting them. She saw us drinking sharbat and her mom without the drink. She went in the kitchen and made it and brought it for her mom !! She is just 6 years old !

Adorable Anika....adorable daughters!

Birthdays.

In conversation with Sambhav's friend Manav - lean, yet strong and a wise boy.

It is my son Sambhav's 23rd birthday. His friends, Manav and Dipti are visiting our home in midnight to wish him. ...
...
Me : It is his birthday, and whole day he kept a sullen face! who does that on their birthdays???
Manav : May be With age we start losing interest in birthdays !!
Me : hmmm...yeah, may be...we have 2 candles here. Lets assume one candle is 2 and other 3 :)
 ....

Why do you stop celebrating your existence, even if you are size of an atom in this universe? May be you are a universe for someone !!

God heard.

Sitting in my Drawing Room,  upright and comfortable in herself, Nisha - the dry fruit girl with casual yet friendly demeanour.

NishaWhen I was tested covid positive, my mother said she should have got it instead of her children. And she got it as if God heard!

Nisha's mom passed away in few days after she was tested covid positive, in June 2021.

I think God could have played deaf  for a change :/

Photographs.

Navratri Festival is over, and I am checking my photos ! I am hating them more than ever, and still zooming it, and comparing it with two pretty friends of mine. I looked old and sad !!
I cried little, and then , I oiled my hair and combed them, lit an agarbatti in front of Ganapati, read some jokes and laughed, spoke to a friend, gossiped a little....

Homes !

Pulkit : No, I will keep them inside, ma'm.

Pulkit came to return my chairs that his grandmother borrowed for kirtan gathering at her home. He is grown up and wiser now.
......
......
Me      : ...so where did you get admission?
Pulkit : In Mumbai College of Engineering, ma'am.
Me      : Thats awesome!!! you don't have to leave home!!
Pulkit : Yes Ma'm...

I think deep down the heart, we don't want our children to go away to far-off places, no matter how amazing those cities or countries are !!
